have many fond memories of Cousin Lynden, one of the lovely dinner we were invited to with my then fiancé and my parents in Manchester days, when Celia was just a toddler running round the table helping herself to food from our plates!! Lynden was happily talking and oblivious to her daughters antics, all very relaxed and happy. Another more recently was on her 80th Birthday, this was so special to her. Lynden loved to invite family and friends together, with her local Indian friends she knew in Oxford. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed meeting the other children in our families as well, and getting everyone together.
I admired her persistence in learning Farsi, and her determination to visit Afghanistan something she talked a lot about, but sadly this never happened. It was however a great motivation to learn a new language.
Lynden had a great love of colourful clothes and only the best wool & cashmere cardigans and jumpers!
You will be missed Lynden.
